Peer Reviewed Publications from UNT (since 2023)

I hope that this list will rapidly become out of date :) So please have a look at my google scholar profile for an always up-to date list, including my publications from before UNT.

Terahertz spectroscopy of MOFs reveals dynamic structure and contact free ultrafast photoconductivity by Kendra Hamilton and Jens Neu, published in APL Photonics (2024).

The editors of APL Photonics invited us to write a perspective on THz spectroscopy on MOFs. Kenny did a wonderful job reviewing the recent literature and thinking about what the future might bring. A great entry level paper for anyone who wants to explore the exciting realm of MOFs meet THz. We discuss pump probe and steady state techniques and compare them to more established concepts. Special thanks to Sarah Ostresh for making these amazing  illustrations!

Manipulating Photoconduction in Cu–Pyrene 1-D Coordination Nanosheets by Modulating Interlayer π–π Stacking by J. Nyakuchena, S.Ostresh, D. Streater, H. Chiromo, J. Wilkes, S. Lindeman, D. Wang, J. NeuG. Brudvig, and J. Huang, published in J. Phys Chem C. (2024)

For this paper we continued our great collaboration with Jier Huang. Her group synthesized these amazing MOFs with different linkers out of plane. The change in spacing is used to understand the influence of out of plane and inplane conductance. My group contributed the photoconductivity measurements.

Dominat Role of Hole Transport Pathways in Achieving Record High Photoconductivity in Two-Dimensional Metal Organic Frameworks by Denan Wang et al.,

published in Angewandte Chemie  (2023)

For this paper we had the great pleasure of working with Jier Huang and her student Denan Wang (and others). The Huang group synthesized these exciting MOFs and we complemented their understanding with our OPTP expertise.

Optical Pump Terahertz Probe (OPTP) and Time Resolved Terahertz Spectroscopy (TRTS) of emerging solar materials by Jens Neu

published in APL Photonics 8, 071103 (2023)

In this tutorial I discussed the main aspects of optical pump THz probe spectroscopy. The goal is to provide a reader an easy access to this novel and rapidly growing field.

Engineering Band Gap and Photoconduction in Semiconducting Metal Organic Frameworks: Metal Node Effect by James Nyakuchena,  Sarah OstreshJens Neu*Daniel StreaterClaire CodyReagan HooperXiaoyi ZhangBenjamin ReinhartGary W. Brudvig, and Jier Huang*

published in The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters  2023, 14, 26, 5960–5965:

This publication is mainly based on work I did prior to joining UNT. However, I am still closely collaborating with Jier and her group and we are actively pursuing even more exciting photophysics in MOFs.
